About Our Campaign

9th & 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association Museum Campaign

The U. S. Army Center of Military History, “Frontier Army Museum”, is currently housed on the Fort Leavenworth, Kansas campus. The Frontier Army Museum provides visitors with an understanding of the challenges, customs, and cultures of the Frontier Army from 1804-1917. Fort Leavenworth is also home to the historic monuments which celebrate the great legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and their history engrained in this great institution – known as “Buffalo Soldiers Park” aka “Circle of First”.

While this Museum tells the U. S. Army story, it is not publicly accessible.  In an agreement with the U. S. Army, The Ninth and Tenth (Horse) Cavalry Association’s capital campaign will fund the construction of a new and reimagined Museum that will be built outside of the gates of the military post to increase access to the public and better serve the community.  This access gives all the opportunity to share in and experience a world class museum designed to collect, preserve, and safeguard the material culture of the United States Army including the Buffalo Soldiers and their storied military History.

Preserving Our legacy

The 9th & 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association is honored to take up the challenge, forge ahead and leave a lasting legacy for OUR GREAT AMERICAN HEROS!
